DEREK DAVIS “Mississippi Mud”
by on June 23, 2019 in

DEREK DAVIS is a bluesy-rock singer/songwriter who came by his talent naturally.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, he started playing drums when he was 11 years old.

Over time he recognized his fondness for the guitar and taking on lead vocals. Many musicians start getting into bands and ‘afternoon jammin’ when they are 14, 15, 16 years old (ish).

But Derek was on a much more serious path. He started playing professionally when he was just 16 years old – The same age many musicians are still experimenting and finding their sound and covering other people’s music.

He was writing original songs, fronting bands, and headlining bars, clubs and other venues. One of his early bands, Babylon AD, was signed to a record deal by the legendary Clive Davis. You have to have a ton of talent to do something like that. They did well.

In fact, one of their songs was used in the trailer for the movie Robo Cop 2. This is from his latest solo project.

The album is called ‘Resonator Blues’, and it was just released at the end of May. It is available for download now.

Be sure to connect with Derek thru his website, FACEBOOK and SPOTIFY.
