JENNY TEATOR is rock singer/songwriter from St. Louis.
Sometimes singers sound like they’re “phoning it in”. They sound like they’re singing it, but they don’t sound like they really mean it. No one will ever say that about Jenny Teator! She sings what she means and means what she sings.
Jenny Teator has the most important trait any singer can have…authenticity.
She’s serious about her music. In fact, she’s so serious, she moved to Nashville to pursue her music career. Many people think Nashville is just for country music. But there are so many musicians (in all formats) that live in Nashville.
But she’s toured all over the place and played some very iconic venues like The Viper Room in LA, The Bluebird Cafe and Exit/Inn in Nashville, and many others. We talk all the time about how the lyrics in some songs are incredibly intense and deep and meaningful. But not every song has to “save the manatees”.
About this song, Jenny says:
“[it] came to be one of those songs where you just feel good jamming out to it and screaming the chorus in your car. I wanted to write a song with a badass vibe, rockin’ guitar parts, and the gang vocal hook to get you singing along. There’s no deep meaning to it, we wanted to create a fictional story of a girl who was raised by the devil (the bad guy) who turned out to be sultry, man teasing, people-pleasing devil blooded woman in disguise. Truth be told though, I really am and will be a daddy’s girl till the day I die.”.
