VALENCIA JAMES is a pop singer/songwriter born in New York City and raised in Sydney.
The first thing we noticed when we heard her voice was how powerful it is and how much emotion it’s filled with. That is part of what makes her such a special singer. She has the kind of voice that demands your undivided attention. It commands honesty. An honesty that comes from doubt and the deepest emotional sadness. It brings out the kind of feelings that are real and cannot be faked.
Valencia’s mission is to shine light on the most darkest of situations. Many people have fallen victim to the (seemingly) increased volume of hate and general meanness that runs rampant across the globe. Oftentimes, people are held back. Creativity is held down. Advancement and growth are shunned by others.
People can easily lose their spark and their passion for life. About this song, she says
“I wrote Dreamers at a time in my life when I was learning how to dream again and believe for dreams that I had forgotten about. It’s kind of that song where I was just like, ‘Why can’t I do all the things that I want to?’ I had just come out of a period of depression about my future and this was my song … let’s all just start dreaming again and going for what we want in life”.
Her music is dynamic and intriguing, in that some of her vocals can sound rather haunting and super emotional. That may be why her music is so relatable. It is real. It portrays feelings felt by millions of people around the world.
But the message is positive. Which is what helps give people hope. That’s what we need more of…hope and understanding. And that is what Valencia James is all about.
She is a super talented pop icon that is literally changing the world one note and one song at a time. This track was just released and it is available for download now.
