London-based flower child AISTÈ released her rebellious single ‘What’s Going On’ on the 21st of April via Saphira Record Label. The single is taken from her forthcoming album The Theory of Everything, which is slated for release on the 19th of May, and follows ‘You’ve Got The Feeling’. The project will be available on digital platforms and vinyl.
Her music has been supported by industry tastemakers Atwood Magazine and CLOUT Magazine, UK fashion brand Underground England as well as webzines GUAP Magazine and Atomic Vox among others. Having earned 700k streams across platforms, she produces, choreographs, and edits her music videos. The ‘Money is Life’ video was nominated in the Best Director category at the 2020 KlipVid Awards. Currently, she’s polishing her debut album for the ultimate experience. Once it is released, she’ll be touring Europe and maybe even the US.
AISTÈ is a powerhouse artist-musician based in East London. Originally from the Baltics, she lived all over Europe before settling in the UK. After graduating from LSE, she began her life’s work in music. Her first-ever R&B-infused release, ‘Say When’, appeared in 2019. Since then, every new release proves that she’s destined for greatness. Since the Summer of 2022, she’s been working on her debut album, which she managed to write, in its entirety, in a single day! She is influenced by Stax Records’ artists as well as Jimi Hendrix, Cleo Sol, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and more.
Like an ode to the sun, ‘What’s Going On’ runs wild beneath the scorching blaze. Bringing to mind the likes of Carole King, Meghan Trainor, and Adele, the record is deeply human, a punchy yet soulful psychedelic kaleidoscope of soul and anthemic energy. AISTÈ yearns for something more, for questions answers, liberation, and passion.
AISTÈ unpacks the message behind the single: “This song represents my attempt to articulate the social, economic, and cultural entropy we are currently experiencing. We are stronger and better when we are together.”
