JJ Sweetheart “Cinnamom”

JJ Sweetheart is slangin surfy sweet waves once again in the Minneapolis music scene. Former member of Rough Trade Records band Howler, and front man of France Camp, Jay Simonson has just hatched a new intimate solo project. Returning from a nearly 4 month, 1,000 mile solo hike through the Arizona desert he seeks to reinvent himself after after “Nearly Dying on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon” . He is promoting a bundle of tracks that he wrote or revisited on the trail when he had “Endless freetime”. Cinnamom is the second single off the “Big Things” Ep set to release on Valentines day 2025. “Cinnamom” was produced by Coleman Trapp of Coast Modern and you can hear the pop laden influences in the mix. JJ has teased two music videos to promote this EP and are compiled of footage from Arizona. There will be a third video released capping off the series. JJ has mentioned on social media for his next record he will write songs on the Appalachian trail and continue this nomadic creative process. The release show party for the EP will be February 13th at Mortimers in Minneapolis.
