Joshua Roberts “Spin the World (Around Again)”

Houston, TX based guitarist and singer / songwriter JOSHUA ROBERTS has revealed the lead single, “Spin the World (Around Again),” off of his third album, Lost & Found. Produced by Chris Castaneda and recorded at 512 Studios in Austin, Texas, Lost & Found features some of Texas’s finest guitar players, including David Pulkingham (Patty Griffin, Pulkingham / Layne, Alejandro Escovedo), Rodney Pyeatt (Stoney LaRue, Mike McClure, Rick Trevino, Selena), Chris Castaneda (Castaneda Project, Pride & Joy), and, on steel guitar, Cody Angel (Jason Boland, Kyle Park). All the music was written by Joshua Roberts.

“As we recorded Lost & Found, it was like we were witnessing a 90’s alternative album write itself into the 21st century. Guitar driven music with lyrics that speak to real experience, love lost, and life found.” – Joshua Roberts

Joshua Roberts is a guitarist and singer/songwriter from Houston, Texas. Roberts was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, one of three brothers, who all found themselves creative and musically active at a young age. When he was 5 years old, Joshua’s family moved to Texas where eventually all three brothers would see this creativity all the way through college. Both of his brothers both earned art degrees, and Joshua earned a degree in music.

While still in high school, Roberts started an alternative rock band named Willis Brownstone with his friends Caleb Jones, Ryan Patrick, and Matt McDaniel. In 2004, the band released their debut album, Summer Salt, featuring the group’s second drummer Jeremy Bryant. The band put out their second album, Without Hesitation, in 2007, which was recorded live in Waco, Texas. In 2007, Joshua also recorded and released his first solo album Concede with Willis Brownstone band mates Caleb Jones and Jeremy Bryant. Unfortunately, Joshua severely injured his left hand in January 2008, and all touring for the new solo project stopped, and Willis Brownstone was by then on permanent hiatus.

After years of rehabilitating his hand and playing mostly in the studio for various artists and projects, Joshua eventually teamed up with Caleb Jones once again, and the duo wrote and produced Joshua Roberts’s second album Electroharmonic, which was released as an EP in 2018. Joshua’s third album, Lost & Found, was released in February 2022 and features an amazingly talented list of guest musicians including: David Pulkingham, Rodney Pyeatt, Chris Castaneda, Omar Vallejo, and Cody Angel. The 8-song album was recorded in Austin, Texas, at 512 Studios and produced by Chris Castaneda.

Joshua currently lives in Houston, Texas.
