Reverend Genes are new-wave and post-punk influenced, unsigned, and from Newcastle NSW Australia.
Production is as old school as is practical. Guitars, basses, keyboards, vocals and drums get recorded with microphones. Valve amplifiers and preamps are used. Post production utilizes recent developments in analogue tape and summing emulation.
You And I is the third single from the upcoming Space EP (21 November 2023).
You And I is about choice and change. Taking, sharing and making money from photos is our current reality. A reflection of the interest we have in ourselves over place. We have a choice. You and I could change.
As a species it is obvious that we are able to change the natural environment. But is this for better or for worse?
Are we are stuck? Will we build ourselves out of the picture, and who gets to choose if we end up in space or can stay here on our home planet?
