Southampton UK’s Slackrr released the new single “Over and Over” via SBÄM Records on Friday, July 19.

The band says, “We are so excited for “Over & Over” being released into the world. The song was written in early 2024, and was one of the first songs to be written for our upcoming album to be released via SBAM Records scheduled for summer 2025. The song focuses on something that we feel everyone can relate to: When you have people in your life who you consider to be friends or even strangers you don’t know talking behind your back in the hopes of bringing you and your hopes and dreams for the future down, and the massive impact that can have on your mental health. This song is about confronting those things and finding strength in yourself with the help of good people around you to overcome it. The video for “Over & Over” (out Friday) is based on this concept but with a fun twist to represent how the real facts and truth will reveal themselves in the end as well as the people who do these things to others will reveal themselves for who they really are in the end.”

Slackrr are easily one of the most talked about bands in the UK underground circuit right now. Hailing from Southampton, the band has only been active for just 4 years and in that time, they have taken some giant leaps forward in becoming a well-known and widely loved name across the UK underground punk and rock scene. In this short space of time, Slackrr have been touring and playing over 300 shows and festivals across the UK with positive feedback coming out of their ears. Their single, ‘Playing With Fire,’ which premiered at New Noise Magazine, achieved airplay on Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood, which led to them being featured artist of the week on Kerrang!, and their single, ‘Waves’ received praise from Rock Sound Magazine, recent single “We Are” achieved high praise from Kerrang! unleashed and the track ‘The Current’ is featured in Deficit Games’ brand new game, VR SKATER, currently available on Steam Early Access. In 2019, the band were asked to play the legendary Isle of Wight festival as headliners on the Platform One stage on the Friday night. Their self-released official studio debut album ‘Time, It Wait For No One,’ was also released on the same day, on the 14th June. Due to the hugely positive reception to their live performance the band were invited back to Isle Of Wight Festival 2021 to play in the main arena.

In 2020, the band signed with Word Is Bond Inc Management. Since then, the band has signed with Lost Music Collective, headed by founder Vinnie Fiorello (Drummer-lyricist for Less Than Jake, Founder of Fueled By Ramen: Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is…, Panic! At The Disco) and are now gearing up to release their second full-length record through the label, starting with the release of their latest singles, ‘Reflections,’ and ‘The Current’ in 2020, ‘Playing With Fire’ in March, ‘Waves’ in May and “We Are” 2021 along with brand new music videos. The tracks have received an incredibly positive reaction, from both fans and reviewers alike.

Now, their fans eagerly await the release of their second record, after being given just a taste of what’s to come.They have supported the likes of The Bottom Line, Sonic Boom Six, Press To Meco, PKEW! PKEW! PKEW!, Homebound, The Penske File, Mest, Light Years, Spunge, Abandoned By Bears, and Ducking Punches, as well as having performed and toured across the UK in some of its most prestigious venues, including The 1865 (Southampton), The Waterfront (Norwich), Wedgewood Rooms (Portsmouth) and The Fleece (Bristol) and Corporation (Sheffield) to name but a few.
