Bad Art is the debut EP from Crystal Box, the studio project of New Orleans-based songwriter/producer, Bodhi Landa. Inspired by deconstructed club sounds, experimental r&b and hyperpop, Landa’s productions are characterized by wide ambient spaces, mangled vocals, electronic beats, and ecstatic synth swells. Bodhi Landa was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he frequented all-ages punk venues and played in indie bands throughout his highschool years. He attended college at Bard College where he studied Art History and French, and was heavily involved in booking shows at the school’s legendary DIY venue, SMOG. After a stint in Brooklyn, playing in Phone Tag and Class Actress, he relocated to New Orleans. In addition to Crystal Box, Landa also produces music for New Orleans’ Doll Muscle and Los Angeles’ Romantic Thriller.
