Keeley “Echo Everywhere”

Following the release of her debut album on June 30, which drew much praise from the UK and Irish media, KEELEY spent Summer 2023 promoting herself in the USA to college radio including a session for legendary NYC-area station WFMU. She also embarked on her first UK tour with amazing shows in London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds. Ever the tireless self-promoter on social media, she befriended Miki Berenyi (Lush), The Darling Buds, Damon Gough (Badly Drawn Boy) and most recently The Boo Radleys, all of whom have been musical idols to her since her teenage years. It was this latter connection that led to Tim Brown of The Boo Radleys offering to remix one of his favourite tracks from the album.

Tim explains…”When I first heard Keeley’s album, it was the first new “indie” record I had heard in a long time that actually struck a chord. A deep and mature authenticity within, and dark themes that made me wonder. With “Echo Everywhere” I just felt compelled to reach out and offer my services. I heard fuzz bass and Valentines synths in my head, so I had to set them free! And just wanted it to be “Boo” loud at the end. Selfish really. Keeley could have said no, so blame her”.

As with all her songs, “Echo Everywhere” highlights Keeley’s ongoing fascination with the murder and short life of teenage German backpacker Inga Maria Hauser, who was brutally murdered in Northern Ireland in 1988 and whose case remains unsolved despite many promising leads pointing to the culprits. As an authority on the subject, Keeley recently appeared in “Murder In The Badlands” (now on Netflix in the UK and RTE in Ireland), a moving BBC documentary that further explores Inga Maria’s tragic demise, and a brand new film centered around Keeley’s involvement with the case is in development.

To cap off a successful year Keeley will play a series of shows with new band members Lukey Foxtrot on bass and Tom Fenner (ex-Microdisney) on drums. This includes two Irish shows as special guest of former Morrissey guitarist & songwriting partner Alain Whyte.
