Rising indie-pop duo The Ivy share their captivating new single, “Every Little Ladder,” out on all streaming platforms today. Known for their distinct blend of dreamy synth-pop, lo-fi textures, rock riffs, and R&B-inspired grooves, the Tulsa-based duo—composed of singer/guitarist Wyatt Clem and synth player/bassist Shawn Abhari—has crafted a sound that’s both deeply nostalgic and refreshingly unique.
Written in Los Angeles with acclaimed songwriter Sam Beresford (Winnetka Bowling League, Losboycrow, Gatlin), The Ivy’s latest single, “Every Little Ladder,” is a feel-good anthem of hope and ambition. Showcasing their knack for creating dynamic yet utterly catchy indie-pop, the song captures the essence of small-town dreams and the desire to climb out and reach for something greater.
Wyatt and Shawn elaborate: “‘Every Little Ladder’ is an anthem of chasing a bigger life while capturing themes of growing up in a quaint, humble environment where everyone’s lives seem to mirror each other in familiar, unchanging ways.”
The Ivy is the brainchild of Tulsa-based musicians and producers Wyatt Clem and Shawn Abhari, who first crossed paths at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City. Their instant creative spark ignited a journey of relentless experimentation and sonic boundary-pushing. Since that fateful meeting, Wyatt and Shawn have honed a sound that’s as fresh as it is addictive, blending sharp songwriting with innovative production.
They made their debut as The Ivy in 2017 with viral singles like “Gold” and “Have You Ever Been In Love.” Building on this momentum, they went on to release three EPs and their 2024 debut album, A Door Still Open, solidifying their place as one of indie-pop’s most compelling acts. Enchanting audiences with their high-energy live performances, they’ve headlined their own US tour, co-headlined with DBMK, and shared stages with acts like Grayscale, The Band CAMINO, and LANY.
Poised for indie-pop stardom, The Ivy is crafting soundtracks for dreamers and thrill-seekers alike. With “Every Little Ladder,” Wyatt and Shawn reaffirm their status as Tulsa’s most exciting musical export—ready to take on the world, one indie-pop anthem at a time.
