Three Eyes is the moniker of California native Jewel Marsh, whose knack for sonic adventurism and appreciation of generation-spanning musical craft makes itself apparent in the project’s diverse, textured, and colorful sound palette.
Conceptually, Three Eyes wishes to draw from hardships past, the evolution they inspired, and the potential of future transcendence, and transmute them all into a vast auditory landscape unlike any other.
The sound of Three Eyes is always transforming, but it might best be described as cosmic dream hop, avant garde synth wave, and moody, atmospheric electronic. Three Eyes aims to thread his eclectic tastes — hip hop, shoegaze, jazz, experimental, alternative, soul, IDM, and punk — into a compelling and enriching musical tapestry.
TERTIUM, the new LP from Three Eyes, follows the complex and bittersweet emotions of last year’s JUNIOR, by inching closer to sublime deliverance by way of overcoming struggles. The Three Eyes of TERTIUM is one who is willing to step into the new, unexplored realms of evolution.
The album says yes to the future, and rejects the temptation to wallow in the past. If JUNIOR was a tortured ode to the struggles of a painful history, TERTIUM is a musical love letter to the possibilities of transformation – an exploration of who one might hope to become in the quest for wholeness
