Electric High “Cyclone”

The Norwegian rock collective Electric High has been quiet for a little while, but the calm before the storm is about to end. Now there’s a raging rock ’n’ roll storm coming from Norway! Cyclone, the new single from Electric High, started streaming Friday, October 7th!

You know when you feel like a circus animal that’s being chased around the ring, trying to escape the Ringmaster’s notorious whip? It feels like a giant storm is building up around and inside you, that is about to break loose with full force … This song is not about that. It’s about the Ringmaster, and being the one who swings the whip on other people. The one who whips up the storm and demands that everyone follows his command.

Cyclone starts with both Electric High’s lead singers, PV Staff and Olav Iversen, literally spitting the letter FFFFFFF into the microphones, before the whole band kicks in with full force into a pounding upbeat groove, which kind of reminds you of Rocks by Primal Scream, handclaps and all. The bridge coming up next, sounds like the whole band is tripping on acid, while singing brow-raisingly out of tune lalalala’s. Cyclone rages on into another verse and another bridge of off-pitch lalalala’s, before the chorus opens the beat up, amplifies the power, and the C-c-c-yclone appears. The band takes a tiny little breather, with a strange little repeating guitar lick, before the storm breaks out again, and tops it off with another bridge and chorus, that measures close to 50 meters per second on Beaufort’s wind scale.

Cyclone was recorded and mixed in Havnelageret Studio, Bergen, Norway, produced by Electric High and Daniel Birkeland.Mastered at Solslottet Studio, Bergen, Norway, by Iver Sandøy.Many more releases from Electric High will follow in 2022.

Electric High is a high voltage rock band from Bergen, Norway, influenced by bands like Grand Funk Railroad, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath. The members hail from bands like Sahg, Faith Circus, and Emmerhoff & The Melancholy Babies. Electric High goes straight for the throat, fronted by two in-your-face lead singers, carried forth by a power-trio that shoots out pure electric power.
