modernlove. “Ruin Your Night”

modernlove. are wasting no time in 2023. Picking up exactly where they left off after an unbelievable 2022, the Irish indie-pop-rockers release their explosive new single ‘Ruin Your Night’. With a raucous video featuring footage from their sold-out debut headline tour of the UK, modernlove. continue to build a highly-engaged international fanbase.

With more music in the pipeline as they build towards EP3 (March 24th), the boys head out on their first US tour in March, including SXSW and tickets selling fast for headlines in LA /NYC /SanFran/ Chicago /Philladelphia and more. With recent support from numerous DJs at Radio 1, BBC Ulster, BBC Introducing, Radio X, Q Radio, Flux FM, MTV, Line Of Best Fit, Hunger Magazine, Notion, modernlove. play their biggest headline to date at Lafayette April 14th as they look to cement their status as one of the most exciting bands of the year.

modernlove. commented,

“Ruin Your Night explores those times we’ve all experienced in relationships where every night inevitably blows up into a huge fight and it seems futile to ever try going out and having fun together. We all sometimes, fall victim to alcohol fuelled self-sabotage and this song attempts to capture both the fire and intensity of those nights and the quiet gentle melancholy of the mornings after. The song has a sort of sonic irony in that it’s a straight up indie dance banger about having an awful night out.”

When modernlove. were formed in 2016, they reacted to the lack of opportunities for live music in their hometown of Drogheda by effectively creating their own scene. By organising rammed DIY pub gigs and encouraging other local bands to step out, they provided a creative outlet for themselves as well as a vibrant community for young music obsessives in their area. That ethos of making something from nothing still serves them well to the current day. And now their music is being embraced on a much bigger platform – including support from Jack Saunders at Radio 1 for their recent single ‘Take Me Far Away’.
