This can’t be real.

“Cancel culture is a powerful weapon that when used appropriately, has the power to take down disgusting human-beings in less than 140 characters; something most court systems can’t manage to do in 140 days. But like a vigilante with no moral code or restraint, it can easily tip toward the dark-side. This song talks about the inappropriate usage of cancel culture. Metaphorically, a virus in the system; that searches through a person’s past and finds the one thing that may be able to bring them down as a petty response or knee jerk reaction to a human occasion. What cancel culture in this instance fails to take into account is the fallibility of humanity.
“The seed of ‘I Saw Love’ started from a memory of a bassline of an Arthur Russell song. As I constructed the song, it became a story of moods, rather than words, like passing through a haunted funhouse of mirrors, traveling from optimism to triumph, despair, and ecstasy,” explains NYC-based indie electro pop artist Michael Tapper of Practice to American Songwriter (who yesterday premiered the single/video). “I Saw Love” is the second single off his debut album Not A Game (out in early 2021).

Since 2018, Ishani’s music drops have each successively rained her raw heartfelt vocals and atmospheric, future thinking beats on us.“Insomnia” made her a BBC Introducing Artist and in 2019 she performed at Reading and Leeds Festival, where her much lauded single “Nothing’s Changed” stormed the festival crowd. Ishani’s songs take the surfaces, reflections and tribulations of modern life and cast them through the prism of Ishani’s introspective voices. Not shy of big topics, Ishani engages with things our culture still finds difficult to talk about. ‘Don’t Stop The Fight’ tackles violence against women, while ‘Dark Angel’ reflects on the loss of two of her close friends to suicide. It was described by CLASH as “a highly personal plea for mental health awareness.” Ishani has performed at Hungary’s Sziget, one of Europe’s largest music and cultural festivals, and she’s also opened for Icelandic electro group Gus-Gus at Be My Lake Festival. Her work is a synthesis of influences, inspired by her cosmopolitan upbringing and travels through Bangalore, Cornwall and Singapore. She is currently based in London.

The list of iconic names that have catapulted and captivated from the Motor City seems infinite…more than a few simply known by one name. “This was the 1st video we filmed for Revolver, and it was a blast! In a lot of ways, filming this video was a dream come true. We spend a lot of time dreaming about what it would’ve been like to have a band in the MTV days, so it only made sense to set the video in that vision. The song itself was heavily influenced by the sounds of the 80’s & we’re so excited to have a video that matches that vibe. We did our absolute best to pay homage to Slash & Guns n’ Roses by recreating (to the best of our ability) the November Rain solo. It was so great to be able to pay homage to those who paved the way for us, & throw ourselves into their image. We really hope you dig it! Keep the Faith.” – FAITH & SCARS

Considering there were only three of us working on this project, I think we pulled it off better than I could’ve imagined.
